Origin
Unremarkably, given its name, the French bulldog originates from France. In the early 19th century, it was initially bred and kept as a ‘toy bulldog’ to make a small companion. This breed is also known as ‘Bouledogue Francais’.

Brindle (fine, close-knit brown and black stripes), fawn, pied tan, mouse, blue and grey.
